Q: What is “Pass the Manners, Please” all about?

A: Our goal is to educate our student diners with the table manners they’ll rely on for the rest of their lives. So through a single, two-hour, multi-course dinner, we provide them with everything they need to know about place settings and silverware, protocols for eating common and unusual foods, how to pass food properly and much more!

Q: Who can attend the dining etiquette class?

A: Young people in Grades 5-12 are invited to take a seat at the table. Enrollment is limited and based on the order that registration forms are payments are received.

Q: How can I register for the class?

A: Click here to access the registration form.  Once your child is enrolled, you’ll receive a confirmation notice via e-mail.

Q: How much does the dining program cost?

A: Fees for the program are $85 per child (which includes dinner). We offer a $10 discount for each additional child from the same family.

Q: What’s the dress code?

A: We keep it simple: Girls in “dressy casual”  and boys in collared shirts.

Q: What’s your cancellation policy?

A: If you need to cancel your child’s participation in the program, please do so five days in advance of the dinner. No fees are refundable after that period.

Q: My child has food allergies. Can she/he still participate?

A: Absolutely! Just make us aware of your child’s dietary restrictions on the registration form found here.

Q: Where will the dining skills program be held?

A: The dinner will be held at the Chef & The Farmer restaurant at 120 W. Gordon Street in Kinston.

Q: What’s your cancellation/no-show policy?

A: Registration is handled on a first-come, first-served basis with respect to capacity of the venue. Due to limited space, there is a 5-day cancellation notice required.  No refunds are issued after that time. And a no-show equals no refund.

Q: Can I attend “Pass the Manners, Please” with my child?

A: “Pass the Manners, Please” is usually reserved for students in Grades 5-12, but Carolina Etiquette (a division of Carolina Junior Cotillions) does offer occasional dining skills programs for adults. We also offer custom-tailored dining etiquette classes for corporate and institutional/government clients. Our past sponsors and program hosts have included: Arendell Parrott Academy, Barton College, Coral Bay Club, DECA Lenoir Community College, East Carolina University Business School, Figure Eight Island Yacht Club, Goldsboro Country Club, Kinston Country Club, L.E.A.R.N. (Lenoir Education Academy & Resource Network), The Country Club of North Carolina, Walnut Creek Country Club and Wilson Country Club.
